Kohiksu Plastic Surgery Clinic

This post is based on my personal experience and is meant to share one patient's experience and feelings, not a medical judgment. On April 24, 2025, I had a suction procedure at Ko Ik-su Plastic Surgery near Gangnam Station to remove a foreign substance from my lower lip. During the procedure, I felt that the medical staff weren't fully focused on the procedure. At one point the doctor was talking with a nurse about a drainage pipe issue while the procedure continued. There was also a short break in the middle, but overall I felt anxious that the procedure was being done without enough attention on me as the patient. Afterward, my lip became inflamed, and stitches were needed during treatment. Even now a scar remains from this, and my appearance still hasn't returned to normal. I visited the clinic almost every day for treatment of the inflammation, and beyond the physical pain of the treatment, the way the staff communicated with me left me deeply hurt emotionally. There were moments when, instead of empathizing with what I was going through, I felt like I was being scolded, and I went through a very difficult time mentally during the treatment period. When I asked about aftercare, I was told I would keep having to pay costs throughout the treatment, which also felt burdensome as a patient. In the end I moved to another hospital, had the stitches removed, and continued treatment there. I'm currently recovering with the help of an oral surgeon's consultation and treatment in the US. Even now, about 11 months after the procedure (as of March 19, 2026), I still haven't fully recovered, and this has had a deep impact not just physically but mentally as well. This post isn't meant to blame a specific hospital or make a definitive judgment — I'm sharing my actual experience and what I felt in the process, hoping it helps anyone considering the same procedure. No matter how much I searched around, I couldn't find a satisfying solution, but the director explained clearly, which finally cleared my frustration! Most of the before-and-after photos looked attractive and well-done, and the consultation was transparent, allowing us to see the surgical process with our own eyes, which built trust. :)
