I am a patient who received cartilage suturing surgery on my left knee from Orthopedic surgeon Kim Jeong-ryeol on October 7, 2022. From entering the operating room in the morning until leaving, I had no idea what part was being operated on or how the procedure was done, and I was unaware that the doctor in charge was performing the surgery. During the operation, I felt like my knee was being hammered, but no one said anything, and the surgery ended in a very bad mood. After discharge, I experienced severe knee pain and visited Bughwan Hospital for treatment; I received one injection and a prescription for painkillers, but my symptoms persisted. MRI results at a major university hospital showed torn cartilage suturing material, leading to a re-operation at that hospital. I am posting this review to highlight the differences from Bughwan Hospital. The surgical process was semi-open, and the doctor announced the start of the surgery, showing the monitor to the patient and explaining the procedure and the operative site, which increased trust and respect for the doctor and hospital. How does your hospital feel about this review?

National merit veteran hospital registration process needs improvement I took a day off to help my father-in-law, a veteran, register at the hospital. I got up at 4 a.m. because I heard same-day registration at the Veterans Hospital in Sasang-gu, Busan starts at 5 a.m. I put his ID in the registration box, got a number ticket at 6:30, had the registration processed at 8:30, and then had to wait for the actual medical exam after that — I think there's a serious problem with this system. Seeing an 80-something-year-old person with a bad body, walking with a cane, who came all the way from Yangsan, and others who arrived the evening before and stayed up all night just to see a doctor — the treatment given to those who served the country looks truly pitiful. And some ER staff and nurses have a mindset where they look at people receiving free treatment with eyes that treat them like beggars. Veterans Hospital staff need training starting with their mindset. I'm always grateful to the doctors and nurses who serve here with a spirit of dedication.

Since the Veterans Hospital is often visited by national merit recipients, the facilities and patient rooms are clean and the staff are kind. But when I was hospitalized before, I noticed the IV stands, called "pole stands," are quite lacking. The nurses were running around trying to find an empty one…

Arrived at the reception at 6 AM, had to put my ID card in the resident card slot. If I check in at 9 AM, I might only get afternoon treatment. A new parking lot was built, so there is more parking than before. New building, COVID testing station. It’s crowded.

There is plenty of space for inpatients to live comfortably, which is good. However, since it is a government-run hospital, I have many complaints about the medical staff.

I visit regularly every two months for treatment. All staff are friendly, and the hospital offers personalized treatment.

The system is well-established and intuitive. The kindness of the staff also plays a big role.

I went for a consultation because of lower back pain, but it was very unkind. Is this how all veterans' hospitals are? 😢
